Registration for the 50th Annual Sangamon County Fair Queen Pageant is scheduled for Sunday May 4, at 2:00 p.m. at the Timberlodge located at the Sangamon County Fairgrounds in New Berlin.

Girls ages 16-21 who reside in Sangamon County are eligible to compete for the title.

The pageant will take place June 18, at 7:00 p.m. in New Berlin . This year's fair runs from June 18 - 22. The hostess of the Sangamon County Fair receives the $1,000.00 Robert Pfeffer Memorial Educational Scholarship. She also will compete in the Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant in January 2009, at the Illinois Agricultural Association of Fair's Convention held in Springfield .
